The streets of East London clash with the cyber ravers of Tokyo. Love this whole look.

CULT Fashion: Les Benjamins

T-shirts; The omnipresent wardrobe staple that forms the basis of our 21st Century uniform but in a market that is over saturated with mass produced t-shirts from the big brands (look, you got it at H&M and so did everyone else), where to turn for that rarer more exclusive garment that is also an expression of self and individuality?…

CULT Fashion: American Intercontinental University in London’s student fashion show.

My top two picks from the menswear looks presented, particularly loved the Star Wars parka coat with fur trim hood.

CULT Fashion: Celebrating British Menswear

Ahead of London Collections Men the British Fashion Council has released his fashion film featuring LCM designers; Agi & Sam, Beauty Berry, Burberry, E. Tautz, Gieves & Hawkes, Hardy Amies, Jonathan Saunders, John Lobb, Matthew Miller, Oliver Spencer, Paul Smith, Richard James, Richard Nicoll and Xander Zhou.

Very much looking forward to attending AW13 in my capacity as menswear journalist at Beige magazine and as London Fashion Editor for Chasseur Magazine.

CULT fashion: Domingo Rodriguez
Domingo Rodriguez has to be one of the hardest working young men in London fashion and his graft is certainly paying off. The acclaimed menswear designer graduated from Liverpool’s John Moore University in 2008 and won the Menswear Award at Graduate Fashion Week, subsequently going on to study at the world renown London College of Fashion; he was also awarded the prestigious Harold Tillman Scholarship to study MA Fashion Design and Technology (Menswear) after impressing a judging panel which included Julien Macdonald and Claudia Schiffer at Graduate Fashion Week 2008 with his BA collection.
Rodriguez has gained extensive industry experience interning at the Delphine Wilson Knitwear and at menswear designers Kim Jones and Carolyn Massey, all of whom he has credited with influencing his work. His design inspirations are diverse and technical; past collections have focused on the scaffolding lines of the human figure and through bias cutting create a chevron effect that mirrors bone structure, movement and the rhythm of muscle tone. Of his designs he says that he; “aims to give a sense of personal luxury that reflect traditional men’s staples whilst retaining familiarity through subversion and inherited history.” …..

CULT Fashion: Euphorik
Is it possible to marry streetwear with more formal styles of male dressing? Euphorik, a London based label currently making waves amongst the fashion elite (indeed the label recently received tastemaker of the moment Nik Thakkar’s seal of approval) think so…

CULT Fashion: SORAPOL debuts menswear looks at SS13 Show in London.

The brilliant minds behind cult London favourite SORAPOL (Sorapol Chawaphatnakul and Creative Director Daniel Lismore, beloved of Azealia Banks and boy do these guys know how to put on a show!) showcased for the first time last night at their SS13 Show two menswear looks. All black fetishized looks not for the faint hearted and modelled by Luke Worral and Aiden Shaw no less. SORAPOL are fast becoming London’s answer to New York’s The Blonds, a celebrity go to label for unique one of a kind creations. Indeed, a SORAPOL show is much like that of a downtown NYC one with that same to die for vibe and edge meeting brave creative vision that is so rare to recreate in today’s age of sheepish conformity. Beginning with a panther headed motorbike revving down a ‘cocaine’ laced catwalk, followed by stumbling ‘doll queen’ models sporting papier mache masks and look after look of avant garde fashion, and ending with The Voices Vince Kidd strutting his stuff whilst belting out a little bit of The Rolling Stones; underground fashion as it was and as it should be.
