CULT Fashion: AW12 coat trends; Vintage or Camel?
The illustration used for this post is the part of my ongoing collaboration with award winning fashion illustrator James Forchione (http://jamesforchione.blogspot.co.uk/) who will be providing illustrations for some CULTIVnation posts as an alternative to the neo-traditional medium of photographic image. We’re going retro.
CULT Style: The Carabinieri
For those looking at militaristic styles this season, the uniforms of Italy’s Carabinieri are a excellent point of reference.

CULT Fashion: BALMAIN HOMME FALL/WINTER 2012 – LOOKBOOK
Vintage Military Fly Boys.
Seriously loving the outerwear here, the greatcoat and leather biker jacket are everything. Another stellar offering from Balmain.
CULT Fashion: McQ Comes Home
Sarah Burton brought McQ back to where it belongs - the London catwalks. The AW12 Collection shown at London Fashion Week comprised both menswear (shown here) and womenswear and can be surmised in two words: vintage military. Think ‘War Horse’ or the BBC’s ‘Birdsong’ then throw in some 50’s swing and you get the idea. Restricted to a palette of olives, army greens and black for the men, it was one of McQ’s strongest and most mature collections to date. Particular favorite, the oversized greatcoat.
